After powering on, if this is your first setup, sugardash will take you straight to the language selection screen.
sugardash works with standard 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. If your school or workplace uses a captive portal (where you normally get taken to a login page before getting online), sugardash can’t sign in directly. The workaround is simple — IT can do something called whitelisting. You can ask them to whitelist your sugardash. They’ll just need the device’s MAC address, which you can find on sugardash under Settings > About Device.
On the Users screen, tap Add New User to create your first profile.
Enter a User Display Name — a simple label like Mom, Alex, or Riley. This name is only for display on the main screen; it is not a CGM account login.
After naming the user, you’ll see a new screen with that name at the top. This screen includes options for Update Name, CGM, Glucose Units, and Color. You can adjust these anytime in Settings, but the most important step now is selecting CGM to connect your glucose source. For details on connecting different CGM types, see the link below.
While not required, we suggest checking for an update at this point. On your sugardash, go to Settings > About Device > Update Software. We continually improve the sugardash software, and sometimes updates are released after your order ships—so you may not have the very latest version on arrival. Running an update now helps ensure you start with the most current features and fixes.
The sugardash main screen shows your WiFi signal, time, and user name, with a button for settings. It displays your current glucose, a trend arrow from your CGM, and the delta, which is the change from your last reading. A countdown bar lets you know exactly how long until the next glucose update is expected.
Short Tap – Cycles between light mode, dark mode, and screen off.
Long Press – Switches to the next user (when multiple users are set up).
Adjust brightness: Swipe Down from the top of the screen to show the brightness slider. Tap Anywhere to close the slider.
