CGM Configuration

Go to Settings > Users > (your user name) > CGM to choose your glucose source. You can select Dexcom (for G6/G7), Libre, or Nightscout (supports more CGM types but requires additional setup).

Dexcom (G6/G7)

To connect Dexcom to sugardash, enter your Dexcom account username and password (the same ones used in the Dexcom app on the phone paired with your CGM).

⚠️ Do not use Dexcom Follow credentials.

  • Most people can stop here. If you already know your Dexcom login, just enter it in sugardash and you’re done.
  • If you’re unsure of your login: Open the Dexcom app > Profile > Account and check under Login.Or go to Dexcom Clarity and sign in. If you see a Choose a Profile screen, select the same login you found in the app.To confirm it’s the right account, go to Reports > Daily in Clarity. You should see today’s glucose graph. If you don’t, the account is not the right one or your CGM is not sending data.
  • Followers are required: Dexcom’s Share system needs at least one follower. If you don’t have one, invite yourself from the Dexcom app > Connections > Share > Invite Follower. If there’s no follower set up, sugardash won’t show an error. Instead, you’ll just see “NO DATA” (three dashes) on the main screen.

Libre

To connect Libre to sugardash, you’ll use a Libre LinkUp account — not your regular Libre account. LinkUp is Abbott’s app/service for following a Libre wearer.

  • If you already have a Libre LinkUp account with data showing, just sign into sugardash with your Libre LinkUp username and password.
  • If nobody follows you yet: Create a Libre LinkUp account, then invite yourself as a follower from the Libre app. Once that’s set up, log into that LinkUp account on sugardash.
  • Important limitation (Bluetooth): Libre sensors can only connect to one Bluetooth device at a time. Many people’s Libre now connects directly to their insulin pump, not their phone. If that’s the case, your CGM data will only show in the pump’s app — and this will not work with sugardash, since sugardash only reads from Abbott’s Libre services.
  • How to check if it will work: If you can log into a Libre LinkUp account and see your glucose data there, sugardash will work. If not, it won’t.

Nightscout

To connect Nightscout to sugardash, sign in using your Nightscout URL and Nightscout Secret API Token.

Nightscout opens up support for many more CGM types, but it usually requires a couple of extra setup steps compared to Dexcom or Libre. If you’re already running Nightscout and can see your CGM data there, you can go ahead and use those same credentials in sugardash today.

We plan to add more step-by-step details in the future for CGMs like Medtronic, Stelo, and others. For now, if you’ve already figured out Nightscout on your own, sugardash is ready to connect.
