sugardash works with Dexcom G6/G7 and FreeStyle Libre, and also connects through Nightscout — which means many other CGMs can join the party too. If your CGM shares data to the cloud, there’s a good chance sugardash can display it. Check out our user guide for details on connecting different CGMs.

For Dexcom users:

Yes, sugardash will usually work — even if you’re already using your pump and pump app.

• Dexcom sensors can connect to up to three Bluetooth devices at once, so you can pair your CGM directly with your pump, your phone (running the Dexcom app), and even a watch.
• To make sugardash work, you’ll need to have the Dexcom app installed on your phone (even if you don’t plan to use it). The app sends your readings to the Dexcom cloud — and that’s where sugardash gets its data.

For Libre users:

It depends on your specific Libre model.

• Some Libre sensors can only connect to one device at a time (for example, just your pump), which means they can’t also send data to the Libre app on your phone. In those cases, sugardash won’t be able to access the data.
• However, if you can see your glucose readings in the Libre Link Up app, you’re all set — sugardash uses the same data source as Libre Link Up.

For other CGMs (Eversense, Medtronic, etc.):

If your system can send CGM data to the cloud through Nightscout, sugardash can connect using that. If you’ve already set up Nightscout with your device, sugardash will display your readings too.

Yes! sugardash now includes full brightness control. Simply swipe down from the top of the main screen to bring up a dimmed overlay with a brightness bar. Drag the bar to adjust the brightness to your liking, then tap outside the bar to return to the Home Screen.

In addition, you can easily switch between normal, dark, and screen off modes with a tap of the screen.

sugardash connects to standard 2.4GHz WiFi networks, which most home routers support.

It does not currently work with networks that require a login through a browser, like some public WiFi at hotels, schools, or hospitals (these are called “captive portals”). However, there are simple ways around this. You can usually get connected by using a mobile hotspot or, in places like schools, asking IT to whitelist the device—which just means letting it connect without the login screen. They can usually do this in a few minutes if you give them the device’s MAC address (found in the About Device settings menu).

sugardash doesn’t use audible alerts — by design. With so many devices already sending notifications, we built sugardash to reduce alarm fatigue, not add to it. It keeps glucose visible through real-time numbers and color cues so you can stay aware without more noise. It’s a companion to your CGM — meant to complement alerts, not duplicate them.
